Day 11! Woooo!
My family.
My family is super small. I'll start with my mom's side.
So there is my mom who was born in 1954, and she is the only person in my family I live with. She has two brothers, both not-married and divorced. One of my uncles has 2 kids, one is 10 and the other is in his 30's. The 10 year old is one of the closest members of my family, along with my mom.
My grandma was born in 1917 and she is still alive. My grandfather lived from 1918-1994, he passed away the year before I was born.
Other than this, I have several very distance cousins, some in Arizona, Florida, etc. I have a Great Aunt in Montreal, Canada.
My Dad's Side. My Dad lived from 1950-2007 and passed away with cancer. He had a brother who also passed away in 2007, but was 13 years older than him. He has a sister, my aunt, who is married and alive and she has 2 kids, and her kids have a total of 3 kids. So I have 5 cousins there. My uncle who passed away had 3 sons and they all had kids and are married. One of the sons has 3 kids, and I used to be really close to them as kids.
I never met my grandparents since they passed away like 10 years before I was born.
My dad also had 2 other daughters in his first marriage, and they are 15 years older than me (they're twins). One of them has a kid, so I am technically a half-aunt, although I haven't seen my sisters since the funeral.
I rarely see my Dad's family anymore, since my parents divorced before he passed away. The last time I saw them was a few years ago at my cousin's wedding, in 2009 or 2010. I see my aunt maybe once a year.
All of the family on my mom's side that I mentioned (other than the distant cousins and my uncle's older son) live in the same city I do.
I am not big on family. I think that society is beyond the bonds of family. At least I am. There are quite a few family members I have just cut off from my life. I think it is weird to do favours for people you don't like, and to hang out with people you don't like. I don't know. Family just isn't important to me.
