Quotes

This is a compilation of my favourite quotes and my own quotes (from my blog and other sources). Post your own favourite quote/own quote in the comment section (it could make it into my list). I know sometimes that things can be misquoted so if you have the authority to know that I have misquoted something or someone, please let me know in the comments and I will fix it! With the internet and translations of texts things can easily be misquoted.

The newest quotes added are in red (for if you are staying updated with my My Quotes page).

My Quotes

On Religion/Theism/Atheism

"The funny thing about the atheism vs theism debate is it doesn't matter what side has more solid evidence than the other because in the end, even if atheism has 1,000,000 pieces of evidence that supports there is no god, and theism has 500,000, that evidence doesn't actually make it more real... we still don't know for 100% CERTAIN."

"Religion hasn't been passed on because it is logical or because people believe in it, but because it gives a sense of comfort and structure to society"

"I dislike the role of the churches, priests, the study of the bible, and pretty much anything surrounding religion."

"Just because religion is true, doesn't make theism true."

"To say "I don't believe in god" implies god exists, but you just refute his existence. It is like saying "I don't believe in hamburgers". Instead, say "god doesn't exist" because that implies nothing other than god doesn't exist. "

"I want to know the first mind who thought up the idea of a god."

"I feel the need to push my limits because I look at theism almost like a societal crisis. A mass group of people believe in something that doesn't exist! Can you really blame me for wanting to stop it?"

"If you expect me to keep my atheism private then I expect you to keep your religion private"

On Family/Friends

"If I am going to be in this society, I am going to be honest with you and say that in society, family isn't as necessary as it has been in the past. Families are broken. Dead."

On Society

"the one idea I always come back to in my discoveries is that people fear being wrong"

"Question things. You must question things or else change doesn't happen. Some strong societal influences need to stop being positive and ignorant and need to get skeptical and question all good things and look for the good in bad things. That's the only time when being positive is okay. Looking for the upside in every bad thing, and the bad in the right."

"Assume everyone is a genius and what they're doing is intentional"

"We actually really know nothing. Well, at least I do not know anything. "

"The real life should involve questioning, studying and your mind playing an active role in the understanding of great metaphysical questions and the questioning of ethics. The mind should have to do this. Why? It's simple. Blind commitment. If our society just keeps progressing we are going to start forgetting why we do the things we do."

" The Internet is so easy to censor rather than a book, so if we all learned everything we knew fom one large database, sure we would all know the same things but knowing things wouldn't be interesting anymore because there would be no fight to the facts, no bias, everything is just one way."

On Gender Studies/Feminism/LGBTQ

"Just because someone has the belief that all people should naturally be paired guy-to-girl, and that two members of the same sex cannot have a natural/normal relationship, does not make them homophobic. That is their belief, that is their opinion. Some religions do not believe in homosexuality, some people do not believe in homosexuality."
